please could somebody inform me the quickest way to rip tracks to my pc. is
it through media player? the reason i ask is that i am thinking of buying an
mp3 player to put around 300 albums on it and wondered if i could rip
straight from cd into mp3 player or if they have to go into the pc first,
which will take ages. thank you in advance for any help.

For extracting to your PC, I've found CDex is fantastic.

http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

Once you've installed it, extracting is as easy as inserting the CD and
pressing F9. It will go off to CDDB and get track information for you.

I don't know about ripping directly to your player. It probably depends on
the device. That's quite some MP3 player to be able to get 300 albums on
it!

Regards

Oli

I just started doing this myself using Media player and it is fast,
sorts in "My music" under album name and downloads cd covers for
printing as well.
