Start and Exit Windows Sounds

I cannot hear any sounds either when booting my PC nor when shutting down.

When I go into Sounds and Audio Devices Properties under Control Panel I can
preview the sounds for Start and Exit Windows with no problem. Also I have
no probelm with any other audio.

Does anyone have any ideas about what might be wrong?

the little booklet to the left of "Where did my Sounds go".

Thanks. However I have tried all the suggestions on this link but none of
them have fixed the problem.

Is there anything else anyone can think of?

You night also try to go to Services and see if Enable Windows sounds (something
similar I hope in XP) is set as Disable.
