administrator accounts can print to the attached printer but limited users
can't. How do I get "limiteds" to print? Tnx

Right-click on the printer, and check the security tab.

You need to add user permissions from the security tab and this has to be
done from an administrator account.

if you do not find security tab, simple file sharing should have been
enabled. You can disable it from folder options.

Usually seen on an XP Home PC with Norton products installed.

Either:

Use another Internet Security application or set them to print direct,
rather than use the print spooler.

Might also help to set "read and execute" permissions for the users group on
this folder:

C:\Windows\system32\spools

Must be done from an admin account. In XP Home you would have to boot into
Safe mode to access the Admin account. In Pro hit ctrl+alt+delete twice at
the logon screen and type it in.

How to start in Safe mode:

Unless it is XP Home, then it has to be done in Safe Mode.

Cari suggested changing from print spool to print direct and that does allow
the users to print now. Printer response time is slow till beginning print
but it does print. Any way to cut the new lag time too? Or is it true that
you can't have your cake and eat it too? Tnx Cari. I didn't try any of the
other suggestions yet since this worked and seemed like an easy fix....HDBob
