Windows Explorer crashes & Send To command does not work

Open Windows Explorer, and OK, until you click on anything outside My
Documents. Crashes and refreshes the Desktop.

Also note that the Send To command does not work.

This is a new PC with update to SP2 applied. The first times this happened
it reported a Data Execution Prevention error. We tried "opting out" for
Windows Explorer, and we no longer get the DEP error, but it still crashes.

Any help very welcome.

If you did not install any third-party software, you should simly
return the machine as this could be a hardware issue.

Sorry, but as you can imagine, we installed a whole bunch of software,
Office 2002, Photoshop Elements, Ulead Photo Explorer, custom written
Btrieve based database, Adaware 6, Works 6, Sage Line 50, Wacom tablet
driver, Kodak DC220 software, Canon Lide 35 + Arcsoft stuff, AVG free
version anti virus.

Before we banged in the software, all was fine.

Other than AVG we run identical software on other PC's (Norton on the
others).

Still hoping someone has a handle on this,

Does en error message generate when it happens. If so can you post it by
verbatim

In the beginning we got an error message. Since we tried to "opt out", we
don't get any message. Perhaps I'll try turning off the "opt out", and see
if I can re-activate the error message?

When I turn off the "opt out", and try a "Start" Programs" "any program"
"Send to", we crash into an error message as follows :

Error Signature
Event type : BEX
P1 : explorer.exe
P2 : 6.0.2900.2180
P3 : 41107ece
P4 : unknown
P5 : 0.00.0
P6 : 00000000
P7 : 01d918d0
P8 : c0000005
P9 : 00000008

the error report being sent to Microsoft includes
explorer.exe.mdmp
appcompat.txt

Does this help?
