Puting image on another HardDrive ?

Hello

I have some prepared image.

After debugging this image on Maxtor harddrive I wanted to put it on a
hard drive Seagate, I've made there the same partitions as on the first
one. But when XPE started it didn't find User Profile Directory and
wanted a driver for the new hard drive. After I rebooted I've lost all
the MUI settings. Do I have to always make image for a specific hard
drive or is there a way how to make it somehow general.
I've experienced this problem with the compact flash card and image
functioning on one mark of it and after I've put it on another one I had
the same problem .. lost user and MUI settings.

Can you give me advice how to deal with this ?

Before transfering image you should clean up the content of the [HKLM\System\MountedDevices] key.
This is assuming you've got your boot partition set up as C: drive in the TD.

Well.. You are in Embedded world now and the assumption here is that the chosen embedded hardware doesn't change much after you
build an image for it.
A workaround - see above.

Basically what happened was that you new drive got assigned non-C: drive letter and all the profile paths got broken.

You should read this tip: http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/community/community/tips/xp/rtpartin/default.aspx
