Java applets will not display

I was able to view this particular website with win98, now that I have XP - I
get the blank boxes. The website has told me to type "java applets will not
display" in browser search and Microsoft XP will wal me through the process.
Cannot get this to work - This is only website I cannot view.

Update your Java engine at www.sun.com and retry. If this does not
help, contact the author of the site.

I went to site - it seems that I have to purchase the program - is this
correct. -

No, SUN's Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is free.

Use the "Download JRE 5.0 Update 3" (not JDK) link here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

Alternatively, take a look at this post by Jim Byrd to get some
information on how to add the Microsoft JVM to your OS installation:

Cannot download this file - also cannot download Macromedia Flash Player -
says download complete - but not on my system. The Jave file says cannot
download.
