Are you aware that the sysoc.inf file has been modified to unhide
Windows components?

How interesting! What does it read when you double click it?

Kelly,

You can do this by modifying the sysoc.inf file in the INF folder and
remove "HIDE" to reveal the hidden windows components.

Am fully aware of that process. That said and without ever testing against
this nature, will bank on your words. However, I am still interested in
knowing what they stand for. :o)

The 0 mb = TabletPC=tabletoc.dll,TabletSetupProc,Tabletpc.inf,HIDE,7

The 56.8 mb = netfx=netfxocm.dll,UrtOcmProc,netfxocm.inf,hide,7

Just tested it and those entries appeared when "hide" was removed.

Wow, great feedback, thank you! :o) And most interesting. Will test these
some time tomorrow via my regular XPP/XP-MCE and Tablet PC's, to see if it
makes a difference. You are good, keep it up. :o)

You're welcome.

If you want to restore the file, simply put in the Win Xp CD into the CD
drive and type the following in the Run dialog box (winkey+R)

expand "d:\i386\sysoc.in_" "%systemroot%\inf"

Assuming (d) is the Cd drive.

Or if you have installed Service Pack 2, there should be a
ServicePackFiles dirctory located in the Windows directory. Simply copy
the "sysoc.inf" file from "c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386" to
"c:\windows\inf". You could type the following in the run dialog box:

cmd /k copy "%systemroot%\servicepackfiles\i386\sysoc.inf"
"%systemroot%\inf"
