When ever I right click on My Computer, to get system properities I get this
error:

This application has failed to start because sfc.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem

After I hit ok it the error goes away, and the properties box does show up.
I would like to know how to get rid of this error msg.

cmatt, do a search for sfc.dll. It should show up in two places
C:\Windows\System32 Folder and
C:\Windows\System32\dllcache Folder. If it's missing from the
System32 Folder make a copy and paste from the
dllcache folder. If it's missing from both go here
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=sfc.dll+&btnG=Google+Search

Hi cmatt,

Click start/run, type cmd, click ok. Then type:

Copy /y C:\Windows\system32\dllcache\sfc.dll C:\Windows\system32

Hit <enter>. When completed, close the command prompt window and retry.

I couldnt find it in any dllcache folder. In fact i didnt even have a
dllcache folder under system32

I did locate a sfc.dll file in a i386 folder, copied and pasted into
system32, and the error went away

Thanks

Cool, glad you got it to work (and that was another way of fixing it). You
likely don't have folder options set to see hidden, system files, so this is
why you could not see the dllcache folder.
