I have a Linksys router and 5 wireless clients. For the last year+
everything has been fine. In an attempt to upgrade security I enabled MAC
filtering and configured all clients' addresses. 3 clients work fine. The
other 2 -both running XP Pro SP2, fail to find the internet. The 1 XP Pro
SP1, and 2 XP Home SP2 boxes work. As I work from home & need internet
access to earn a living, I had to disable the security. Any ideas what XP
Pro SP2 is doing?

as service pack 2 is basically a security upgrade we know
it is related to wireless security, not sure exactly what
is happening, just a guess here but try updating the
router firmware and software from linksys.

another guess is the windows firewall is on after sp2
automatically, possibly you need to turn it off or adjust
the firewall settings accordingly.or alternatively a
third party software firewall could be the issue.

just guesses so take em for what there worth.
