Hello,

My current Windows Pro version of my desktop is before the advent of
wireless connections. I currently purchased a laptop and was able to
establish a wireless connection to my desktop but can't do the same because
the desktop doesn't have the wireless connection capability. I downloaded SP
2 thinking it would provide the lastest files but still can't connect desktop
to laptop. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Yick

you might want to think about putting a wireless card in you desktop.
you see you need a wireless card to go wireless.
now if you have a wireless card installed you may have a conflict or you
need to install drivers.
being the physic I am, I am not good enough to see what is inside your
computer/

Windows XP has had wireless support since it was released. You need a wireless ethernet adapter, of course, but as long as you're on a router and a wired/wireless LAN, there should be nothing, other than XP's firewall that prevents you from connecting from one computer to another.

Please provide more details on your set up, including router, hardware, ethernet adapters, etc.
