I didn't create a floppy recovery disk during installation of Windows XP and
now I can't find a way to create it. I've searched online but still can't
find where/how to do this.

The method of recovery disk creation may vary by computer manufacturer.
If you have your manual, the method ought to be described therein.
What did your online searching consist of?
Is your computer still in warranty?

The XP CD is bootable therefore it is its own recovery disk

You didn't create a recovery floppy because there is no opportunity to do
so. This is NOT Win98. For recovery purposes you boot up from the Windows XP
CD.
