In Outlook 2003 running on windows XP, I try to click on a hyperlink inside
an email. It gives this error:

"The Operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this
computer"

How can I make it so I can again click on links in emails?

Thanks.

Go here:

That is actually for Outlook 2002, but it should work just fine for 2003 as
well.

This problem is caused by outlook 2003 not having an associated browser to
open links. This happened when you installed Firefox most likely. Outlook
lost the default browser setting. You can just follow the instructions on the
link I gave you earlier, then open up FireFox and reestablish that it as the
default browser. This is done by Tools>Options>General tab (I believe)

Right click on your email icon and then click on properties . Make sur that
you click on each tab to make sure that your email is set up the way you want
it .

After hours of frustration and no success, I disenable Norton Internet
Security, and now all my hyperlinks in e-mails work. Try it and save yourself
some agony. It could simply be your Internet security.
