Trying to copy and paste a 5 gig file from the c: to an external HD but it
gives me an error saying there is not enough room and to delete some files to
make room. There is 79 gig left out of 80g. Did I hit a size limit?

What partition type do you use on the external disk -
FAT32 or NTFS? FAT32 has a file limit of 4 GBytes.

Humm, try "Drag and drop" with the mouse rather than "Copy","Paste"
