Try opening device mgr, locate the mouse, expand the tree,R.click, properties,
select, uninstall, restart computer or shutdown, replace mouse with other.

Thanks. That doesn't work. It only uninstalls the mouse itself, NOT
the driver software. When I try to install Intellipoint 5, for example,
it finds the prior version - tries to uninstall it - fails, and aborts.
I REALLY need to know how to rid my system of any and ALL prior mouse
software so I can re-install the current stuff. I DO appreciate your
willingness to help, however!

Install the old version then uninstall it.
