I'm getting blue double underlined words that when clicked on take you to an
ad. I am not doing this, but it just happens in Outlook Express and on
websites. Does anybody know why this would have started just recently? Is
there an options box I can check to see if it's checked?

They are hyperlinks (addresses to websites) embedded. You've probably
picked up some spyware/malware while surfing the Web.

Gail,
It's just a way web sites try to generate some revenue. After all,
these sites seem to be for free, but in reality it costs money to run
servers & techs to keep the web pages flowing.
I find them a little bothersome myself, but then if I want something, I
will do some research first.
For security reasons, I don't use "click through links," unless I know
they are from a very legitimate source.
The choice is yours.
Best,
Treeman
