Dear All,

Last week my laptop's motherboard got burnt. The system on the computer is
Windows XP w/ SP2.

I had all my data under a special folder under my user under the "documents
and settings" folder. As I don't have a recent backup of my files, I need to
reach and save my data.
I took out my HDD and connected it to an other computer as a slave. And I
tried to change the privileges on the folder however the system did not let
me do it.
Any ideas how I can save my data? My laptop does not boot up/start at all.
Is it possible to reach the data after I change the motherboard? Is there a
way to save the data in another way? Any help would highly appreciated...

Regards,
Attila

How about to replace the disk with another machine ?
[Detail]
Machine A means the machine broken.
Machine B means another machine.

Put the HardDiskA to the machine B.
Boot the OS from the Harddisk A.
And login with the user you used before.
You'll can access into your files.
