Explorer Issue

When I open explorer.exe trying to go down to another level by clicking the
folder on the right hand side of the screen opens a new window and search
option.
My intention is to open folders by drilling down by double clicking the
folder(s) until I find the file I am looking for.
Should I use the left hand side I can click on the + signs and open up to
the level required.
Can not seem to find an option to switch off this auto search - can any one
supply some ideas on where to look and what to do?
Thanks in advance

Hi Len,
While in Windows Explorer;
You can change to "Classic View," for your folders. On the menu choose
Tools, Folder Options, General Tab, Select; Use Windows Classic Folders
& Open each folder in the same window.
If you want the entire tree to be visable instead of My Computer, ect.
you can tweak this by going to _each_ icon for Windows Explorer, right
click to bring up Properties, left click Properties, in the Target
dialog box, copy & paste what I've included below;
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,C:\
Best,
Treeman

MVP Doug Knox has a fix for this at his website:
