Upgrade from ME to XP

I have a Dell Pentium III with 128 meg of RAM, and I am trying to upgrade
from ME to XP. I've had various machine problems, including freezing,
non-responsive mouse, can't defrag, etc. The XP upgrade keeps freezing. I
ran the diagnostic within XP and got a list of things that it says are not
compatible, but the list includes a bunch of new applications that I know
must be compatible with XP (wireless card, digital camera, etc.). I dont'
want to reformat the disk, and start with a clean XP install, because I can't
seem to locate the original disks for a number of my applications, including
Word and Excel.

Any ideas?

The devices mentioned are probably compatible, but only with XP drivers
installed.. when upgrading, disconnect everything but ensure that you have
XP drivers ready for any internet connection device in use..

Re. you digital camera.. some programs supplied are eminently NOT compatible
with XP and have to be removed.. XP does have the ability to connect to the
cameras without using the supplied software in most cases..

You will need more memory.. 512mb is a good target, more if you manipulate
graphics..

Upgrading ME to XP does NOT overcome any problems that might have been
present in ME.. ensure that your system is working properly before upgrade..
