How to use kill.exe

I want to use the kill.exe command-line utility to kill Msiexec.exe (as per
the MS site http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=275869), but I can't find any
guidance on how to do this. I think it is a command line in the MS-DOS
command prompt, but not sure what exactly to type.

Can anyone give me idiot-proof guidance on how to get rid of Msiexec.exe. I
am getting error message 1711 when trying to load the saftware fro a digital
camera.

Many thanks

The article describes how to escape an installation process that has hung
when deploying a program via group policy on a Win2000 server. It does not
tell how to complete a problem installation. Kill.exe is not a native XP
file so no help there. Also msiexec.exe is the installer at work so ending
this task will only kill the install.

Check that there is, in fact, enough room on the drive the installation
will be installed to. There should also be adequate room available on the
drive that holders the temp folder. This is where the installer will unpack
files before placing them to their permanent locations.

Have seen the installer erroneously complain about not enough room when, in
reality, it is tripping over leftovers in the Temp folder. Clear the temp
folder and try the installation again. The default location of this hidden
folder is .\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temp\

If you continue to have problems with this, contact tech support for the
camera's software.
