Hello, everyone.

We have two XPE image which are XPE SP1 & SP2 using our product OS.
Most of components related to disk operation are included.

Currently, while we tried to test new HDD model which is HITACH Deskstar
HDS728080PLAT20, some problem occured when we tried making new partition with
diskmgmt.msc.

Following error message appeared as I make a new partition to new HITACH HDD.

Strange to say, the problem occured only when I connect 2 or more this new
HDD to the machine. On the other hands, it's OK when I connect 1 HDD to the
machine which is connected as primary master or primary slave. Moreover, they
are working perpectly without any errors on XP Pro or XP Pro SP2. It's so
strange.

Anyone can help me?

What is the size of the disk? >128GB?

Have you tried to restart as proposed?

Tell us exactly how did you connect disks? Do you see them in BIOS? This
might be master/slave problem...

Nikolai,

The size is 80GB.

And I surely tried to restart, and then disk looks working properly, but
unexpeted shutdown occured when I keep the computer power on more than
several hours. It must be related to hdd problem.

I think HDD connecting configuration is OK. we checked the hdd jumper
setting to master/slave, cabling, and BIOS state. In the BIOS setting, we
could see HDD is detected properly.

Do you have any idea?

Unexpected shutdown - BSOD? or something else?

Can you setup for test purposes on that hardware normal XP to check that
it's not a hardware problem with hdd?

Nikolai,

Thank you for your consideration.

1. No BSOD, but we're not sure what kind of restart symptom has been occurred.
2. In Normal XP Pro and XP Pro SP2, there is no problem eventhough the
drivers between XP Pro and XPE are same version.

Oh.
Can you give me any other comments?
